DMCA Copyright Policy

reThought Real Estate ("reThought") respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of rethought-realestate.net (the “Site”) to do the same. This policy describes how to notify us of claimed copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.
1. Reporting Claimed Infringement
If you are a copyright owner (or authorized to act on behalf of one) and believe material on the Site infringes your copyright, you may send a written notice to our Designated Agent. To be effective under the DMCA, your notice must include substantially the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and that is to be removed, with enough detail (such as the URL) for us to locate it.
- Your contact information, including your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

Note: This Designated Agent contact is provided as a template. The brokerage owner should confirm the agent's details and register the DMCA Designated Agent with the U.S. Copyright Office (dmca.copyright.gov) to receive the safe-harbor protections of 17 U.S.C. § 512.
3. Counter-Notification
If you believe material you posted was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a written counter-notification to our Designated Agent that includes substantially the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, mailing address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the U.S., the Eastern District of Wisconsin), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.
4. Repeat Infringers
In appropriate circumstances, reThought may remove or disable access to material and may terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.
5. MLS / IDX Content
Most listing content and photographs on the Site are provided by listing brokerages through MLS IDX feeds (Stellar MLS and Metro MLS / Wisconsin MLS via our provider, Repliers). If your complaint concerns a specific listing's content or photos, please identify the listing (including its MLS number and URL) so we can route the issue appropriately, which may include the originating MLS or listing brokerage.
